Celebrate the Freedom to Marry

There is a new Equal Rights fight going on now, and I can't sit idly by any longer. I created this piece in order to show the kind of love and companionship that we are all entitled to. It is natural, and wholesome to be allowed to love the person we feel connected to, physically, intellectually, and emotionally. Fight for equal rights, fight for equal marriage. Fight to keep families together.

The piece: I like to focus on the positive arguments for a situation, rather than barrage someone with reasons why they are wrong, I would rather point out why we are right. We are right because gay love is legitimate love. It is legitimate in it's companionship, in it's nurturing, in its power to balance lives and complete people. It is the same love that heterosexual couples feel for each other, in every way. Therefore, it should be recognized legally in the same ways as heterosexual love. This piece is about the happiness and calm found in love. It is about the cooperation and mutual nurturing that is inherent in a loving couple.

More artwork on this subject to come.

Papa's Palace

While down at the family beach house (Papa was what we all called my great-grandfather, who built "the Palace") i took a lot of pictures of a particularly interesting looking storm. I put them together into a photo-collage, which I present here.

Papa's Palace is in the town of Atlantic Beach, NC, off the coast of Morehead City. The house was built in 1947 and has stayed the same as when it was first built, more or less. There is no air-conditioning, and each summer my extended family gets together, and puts over 20 people under one roof, spanning four generations. It is wonderful to be a part of such a happy, large, and friendly clan!

These meats are made for upholstery, and that's just what they'll do.

one of these days these meats are gonna upholster all of you...
